April O. Danos is the Maritime Information Systems Security Engineer for Stephenson Technologies Corporation (STC), a Nonprofit 501(c)3 Louisiana State University (LSU) Affiliate. She recently retired after 23 years of experience in the Maritime Transportation System (MTS) from the Greater Lafourche Port Commission (Port Fourchon, LA) as the Director of Homeland Security and Technologies.
Because of April’s unique experience in the MTS and her passion regarding cybersecurity, April has become a nationally recognized expert on cybersecurity, speaking at multiple national conferences, seminars and education institutions. She has authored several articles on Cybersecurity. Ms. Danos was instrumental in creating the first American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) Cybersecurity Subcommittee. She currently serves as a board member for InfraGard Louisiana and is one of the InfraGard Louisiana IT Sector Chiefs, serves on the Louisiana Cybersecurity Commission ESF-17 Subcommittee, Cyber Risk, Assets and Capabilities Assessment Subcommittee and was instrumental in forming the Louisiana Cybersecurity Commission Maritime Industry Committee. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the South Louisiana Area Maritime Security Committee (SLAMSC) Cybersecurity Subcommittee and is serving as the Vice Chair of the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf AMSC.
