CAPT Jennifer Stockwell is the Deputy Commander of Sector Virginia. As the Deputy Commander she leads 1,200 Coast Guardsman and Auxiliary personnel, among six cutters, five small boat stations, three aids to navigation teams, and a Sector Field Office conducting all Coast Guard missions in Virginia waters and offshore. She oversees all Captain of the Port, Officer in Charge of Marine Inspection, Federal On Scene Coordinator, Federal Maritime Security Coordinator, and Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator authorities in the region.

CAPT Stockwell is a 1998 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT with a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Sciences and earned a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering in 2002 from The Johns Hopkins University. Her field assignments include USCGC POLAR SEA as a Student Engineer, Marine Safety Office Corpus Christi as Chief of the Port Management Department, Sector Southeastern New England as Chief of Inspections and Investigations, Sector Hampton Roads as the Assistant Chief of Inspections, and Sector San Francisco as Prevention Department Head. CAPT Stockwell’s staff assignments include the Coast Guard Headquarters Office of Hazardous Materials Standards, Executive Assistant to the Deputy Commander of Coast Guard Atlantic Area, and most recently Chief of Inspections and Investigations as the Fifth Coast Guard District. She has responded to numerous major incidents, including Hurricane Gustav, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita, and Deepwater Horizon.

CAPT Stockwell is a native of Bloomfield, NY and is married to CDR(R) Blake Stockwell, USCG, and they have four children.
